Our Roots

Latham and Phillips (L.P.O.) was established in 1987 by Steve Latham and Phill Phillips, both ophthalmic industry veterans with over 30 years of experience.  Their goal was to create a distributorship that provided the best ophthalmic equipment at reasonable and competitive prices.  They built L.P.O. with a core value system that was based on offering reliable and prompt service to back every sale.

L.P.O. quickly gained popularity among eye care professionals, and became one of the top distributors in the USA.  Manufacturers appreciate the knowledgeable and experienced sales representatives, and offices can count on L.P.O. not only for new purchases, but expert advice with office planning, maintenance, repair, and new technology.

In 2013, L.P.O. was acquired by Luneau Technology, one of the oldest, and most recognizable ophthalmic distributors in Europe to this day.  With this acquisition, came the opportunity for L.P.O. to broaden their product portfolio offerings, and for Luneau to bring the Visionix name brand into the US market.

Latham & Phillips Ophthalmic continues to provide exceptional products, quality, and service based on the founding principles this company was built upon. Maintaining our client’s trust and relationship with is our top priority.

Phoroptor/Refractor Cleaning

We take great pride and care into each phoroptor/refractor cleaning.  We will ship you a loaner at no charge (freight charges apply) to keep you up and running while we are caring for your phoroptor.  Once we receive your instrument, our factory authorized technicians will take it apart and thoroughly inspect it.  All cylinder lenses and prisms are checked for correct alignment on a calibrated collimator.  Mechanical parts are checked for proper operation as per factory specifications, and adjustments are made to insure your instrument is in excellent working condition.  Finally, each lens is cleaned individually so the image the patient sees is crisp and clear.  We will send a quote for the cleaning and/or any repairs or replacement parts needed.  As an authorized distributor for the manufacturers of Reichert Phoroptors, Marco Refractors, and Topcon Vision Testers, we use original manufacturer parts. Utilizing unauthorized technicians will nullify any manufacturer warranty.

We service mostly all ophthalmic equipment including: Lensmeter, Projectors, NCT's, Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscopes, Hand-Held Instruments, Auto Refractors, Slit Lamps and many more.

We specialize in Lane Maintenance and Practice Moves.
